Learning Coaches
Think about it...
As parents, you influence their priorities, decisions, present, and future! You have the power to set them up for success.
But how?
Institute a schedule (including snacks, meals, and extra-curricular activities)
Check their daily assignments checklists
Check their weekly grade reports
Inquire about tutoring when needed
Encourage reading outside of school requirements (See library tab for suggestions)
Complete an EOC practice test for each subject monthly (See testing tab)
Set daily, weekly, and/or monthly goals
Occasionally check their quality of work (Are they really trying or just doing enough to get by?)
Read Nerd News thoroughly for updates
Explore the CCVA website for updates
Reach out to Mrs. Peckinpaugh and Mrs. Smith as needed
*REMEMBER, when you sign them up for school, their teachers still need you in their educational corners! You are a MAJOR COMPONENT of their educational success! We don't underestimate your role, so don't underestimate it either.
When you sign the "Parental Expectations" form, you are signing up as their learning coach to support them through graduation!
